More on Seed Fermentation.

In this short clip I show jars w/ many types of tomato seeds w/ water added for fermentation. This 3-4 day process breaks down the gelatinous material so your seeds will be clean & have a great germination rate. Day one looks clean & mostly clear. By day three a white film & some molding should be present. This is accompanied by a gas & odor. Do not be alarmed. This is necessary & will not damage your precious seed stock in any way. By day four the seeds, when placed in the proper size strainer will rinse clean with cool water. The seeds can then be plated and dried for packaging. Even when seeds seem dry they can still can still contain enough moisture to cause mold in the packaging. I have witnessed this happening in both paper envelopes and plastic baggies. Make sure they are thoroughly dry before storing for short or long term. With Kind Regards & Respect, Adrienne Martino
